When Will Muscle Cars Be Made For a Second Time Topic 9321.39

If you are a person in your forties or fifties, and you have fond memories of your first car, more than likely you drove an All-American muscle car. These vehicles have lead to people searching all over the United States for old muscle cars that need restoration. The real reason is that not any of the Big Three are making these awesome machines anymore. The big question is when is somebody going to make a real muscle car again?

Chevy and Ford are already releasing new models of Camaro's and Mustangs ever since the 60's. The problem is the fact that with each passing model, they move away from the ferocious power of a muscle car into something more scientifically advanced. Will we ever be able to experience a car that has a 327 together with a 4 barrel carburetor again? The sad reality is we will probably never enjoy those categories of cars again.

The main problem is people like to correct things when they are not necessarily broken in the first place. For example the 1967 Camaro that is certainly one of the most preferred muscle cars ever created. Even with its reputation, Chevy made a decision to stop making this particular version. It was equally the same for the great 1966 Mustang, with all its awesome styling and power, Ford decided to not make it anymore.

Here's the place it becomes interesting. The VW Bug had been Volkswagen's most preferred model back in the day, so they reproduced it many years after the original version was no longer in production. Despite the fact that modern Bug sold great they might have sold more if they simply just went back to the old style of Bug. It can't be helped that these people think that new has to be better. Well, there is more to come with our discussion of scuba diving gear, so we hope you are finding it to be useful. Stop and think a bit about what each point means in your personal situation. You can get the input of others around you about all this, and of course that is your call, to be sure. You will be best served if your knowledge is broad, and then you can fill in any details with further research. If you can achieve that, then that is good; but in the end you have to accomplish what you can. Just pick the most relevant areas and concentrate on them, at first. At least until your knowledge is broader, try to determine what directly applies to you if possible.

The most significant thing is this. What might you do if Chevy announced that they were making a new Camaro with a 327 engine and a 4 barrel carburetor with no modern technology? I have actually asked hundreds of folks over the years and they all say that they would go out an get one. Therefore what might be the difficulty? If people want the good old days, when is some motor company going to give people what they desire.

When will Ford or GM decide that it's a good chance to build cars like the good old days? I believe that they may become hot sellers. Until Ford and GM understand this, we will have people digging around salvage yards and the Internet for classic muscle cars to rebuild.

Perhaps eventually a muscle car junkie will be the CEO of Ford or GM and decide to start making muscle cars again. As of right now, the existing leaders simply assume adding new technology will make a better muscle car. For me personally I think it's time to return to the basics.
