The Different Types of Harley Motorcycles

Harley Davidson started in the year 1903 with the united efforts of William Harley, Arthur and Walter Davidson and Henry Melk. Well known for their cruiser-form bikes, Harley Davidson has been one of the two enduring mass-manufactured motorcycle varieties in the United States, supported by Victory Motorcycles.

With a long running job in American heritage, the hog emblem of HD motorcycles is one of the most recognized trademarks connected with the US. It is an image that a lot of riders concentrate to accomplish throughout their lives.

Classic Harley Davidson motorcycles integrate a V-twin engine that is located parallel to each other on a 45 degree angle which aligns into the letter V. The sound that is created by HD motorcycles plus the V-twin engines it integrates are two of the most widely recognized features of Harley motorcycles, or also known as a chopper, big bike or a hog.

Dyna Harley Davidson model designs can be classified from a Sportster, which is another Harley Davidson creation, by the greater engine size that it houses.

Sportster

Having XL as the Harley Davidson's model design name, this certain type of Harley motorcycle are one of the most agile motorcycle models created by Harley, showcasing a 833 cc engine. Diverse generations of Sportster breed of Harley Davidson models are considered to be some of the most renowned models of the company.

Softail

Softalil Harley motorcycles utilize Harley's trademark bit-twin engines, and boast Harley Davidson's trademark look as part of its main selling point. They boast the classic Harley motorcycle heritage, and come with optional parts for customers to choose from, depending on their respective wanted looks for their Softail Harley motorcycles.

Touring

This model is also known as "dressers" due to their appearance as the most cruiser style look amongst the other models of HD. It also comes with an extensive rear area capability which provides more loading space on the motorcycle.

Revolution

This particular Harley Davidson model uses Revolution engine and is less parallel with the classic HD motorcycle. It houses a liquid cooling technology plus an overhead cams and fuel injection system. It is also easily recognizable by the 60 degree V-twin engines and is focused to go against Japanese musclebikes.

With these five major classifications of Harvey Davidson models, there is surely one that will catch an individual's attention if they are planning to buy their own HD motorcycle near the future.
