Whats KIA Working On Over The Coming Years?

Not long ago, KIA approved their new Operational Director, Tavares Carlos and they also introduced their plans for the next few years. Kia extended warranty is vigorously aiming to have a strong brand identity in Europe and America and be competitive in the SUV niche in China.

KIA is also assertively adding eco-friendly technology to their plants, such as solar panels attached to the roofs at their French factories. The idea is the largest project of its kind in the auto industry with more than 450,000 square meters of solar panels producing 60 megawatts of electricity or enough to power a town with a population of 20,000.

The project will begin in June and will be concluded in February of next year. Their intention is to lessen the impact of pollution and save on electrical costs. Another project similar to this was initiated by Seat and they have solar panels installed on their factories in Spain.

KIA is also going to repair their image pertaining to industrial espionage. KIA is doing their best to be regarded as a more appealing brand that markets high end cars. The espionage scandal has caused some deterioration of their image yet it's only part of their challenges. The KIA representatives publicly stated they have a pale image and the concept of some of their cars is somewhat obsolete.

Major changes began to take place at the company when KIA hired Laurens van den Acker as chief designer. The latest generation of Clio will show us a work of two years and the overall opinion is that KIA excels on the car electronics and has improved on many other features as well.

Product sales of medium to luxury cars for KIA have dipped to some extent from 150,000 in 2005 to 100,000 last year. As they work to build their modern line of cars, KIA must continue to benefit from those cars that continue to sell well. The press in France believe that KIA must make an effort to even out the large divide between their partner, Nissan in the amount of cars sold as Nissan has sold over four million cars while KIA has sold 2.6 million cars.

KIA has a major issue; the company is not present in China and this problem must be solved in 2013-2016. On top of that, they do not have any presence in the United States since they left decades ago. Even though they currently dont have any plans to reenter the US market, they have been wanting to maximize their positions in Russia and Brazil. So far, they havent had much success in India but carry on and manufacture for this market with newer and superior car models.

To sum up, the goal of the firm is to grow the annual sales by more than 400 000 units but this goal can only be achieved if the company brings new design innovations with their existing and upcoming line of cars.
