How To Survive On A Caravan Holiday

By Kristina Khol

Caravan holidays are really getting popular these days. This is a fantastic way to get away from the nine to five. If it is your first time on such a trip you may be a bit confused by it all; exactly how do you survive on such a holiday?

In this article you will find the ideal survival guide to caravan holidays

A lot of people worry about how they are going to stay clean in their caravan. While it is possible to have a shower installed in a caravan, this can be pretty expensive. There are shower rooms available in most caravan sites and these can be used.

If you are not going to be staying near to a caravan site then you could always wash in a stream or river which will be like going back to nature. Getting a couple of buckets of water is another way that some people will wash themselves when caravanning.

With most caravans not having washing machines or tumble dryers, clean clothes is another issue that some people have. Using two buckets of water to clean clothing is the best way; just put warm soapy water in one and then rinse the clothes in the other one. However, most caravan sites will have a laundry room with washing machines that you can use.

Another problem that people have is cooking. Personally I do not like to cook inside the caravan because of the stink of food that gets left behind. If you want to cook your food outside then it might be a good idea to take a portable gas cooker with you. If you prefer cooking on something electric then you will be pleased to know that you can also get portable electric cookers but they will use your caravan's electricity. Of course if you are really adventurous you could make a camp fire.
