Discover Exciting New Cars For 2012

By Sheila Green

There are many highly anticipated new cars for 2012 out there. While some of these vehicles will be extremely fast and loaded with lots of extra horsepower, many will be extremely fuel-efficient, saving you gas money. We will still be waiting for the day when we have flying cars like in Back to the Future, but rest assured that these cars are still very futuristic looking.

One of these vehicles people can anticipate is the 2012 Honda Civic. This automobile has a few awesome variants - sedan, coupe, a natural gas powered one, and the go to hybrid vehicles. Honda promises that the fuel economy on these vehicles could be as small as 40 mpg on the highway. This is is extremely exciting, as the price of gas is not going down anytime soon.

Ford's Mustang Boss 302 is another vehicle people can anticipate. It is powerful with a 444 hp engine. This vehicle features many improvements including suspension modifications, adjustable shocks and struts, firmer springs & bushings, bigger anti-roll bars, and stronger brakes. This car is sweet with a shortthrow 6-speed gearbox.

If a very cute, small vehicle is something you're looking for, the new Toyota Scion is what you're looking forward to. Toyota brags about its light weight frame, making it rumored to be able to get 50 mpg maximum. Though it fits up to four people, three adults can fit inside; the fourth space is reserved for a car seat. At just 6 1/2 feet long, This car will be able to easily fit into any parking space. This small car has an exciting exterior, a great combination of both boxy and sleek, containing smooth, beautifully rounded edges.

The Jeep grand Cherokee SRT-8 is a car with lots of power. In fact, it has 500 horsepower, coming from its 6.4 liter engine. With a rumored eight speed transmission, it will be an incredibly fast vehicle.

Perhaps one of the more different vehicles out there is the Hyundai 2012 Veloster. This car only has three doors, which is how Hyundai was able to cut down on weight, making this car compact and light weight. There are two doors on the passenger side, and just one on the driver's side. Cutting down on weight makes it have excellent fuel economy at 40 mpg max. It's look, sleek and hexagonal, is both aesthetic and futuristic.

Another car to look forward to is the FT 86, a sports car manufactured by Subaru & Toyota. Both versions will be light, but they also have differences between them. For example, the target version will be called a Scion FR-S, and it will be out in the US long before the Subaru version. In fact, the Subaru version might not even come to the US at all, but if it does, it should be here by mid-2012 at the soonest. It looks like something out of a sci-fi movie, but with classic car sensibilities.

In January of 2012, Camaro's ZL1 (2013 version) will be out. At 550 hp, this engine is highly powerful (hiding Cadillac CTS-V's 6.2 liter V8). This car will be scary-fast, most likely able to go from 0 to 60 in fewer than 5 seconds. This is another exciting example of what to expect from new cars for 2012. It will definitely be a year that will be a good one for cars, and for car enthusiasts everywhere.
